June '08 - Interest rates have been held at 5.0% this month, with the City is expecting no further rate cuts this year and at worst, 2 to 3 rate rises.
May '08 - Rates were held steady this month at 5%.
April '08 - The Bank of England this month cut interest rates by 0.25% to 5%, but some lenders actually put up rates on the day of the announcement.
March '08 - Interest rates were held steady, with the pound breaking the $2 mark for the first time in 2008.
February '08 - Interest rates were cut by a further 0.25% this month to 5.25%, with 9 out of 10 main lenders following within the hour.
January '08 - After last month's base rate cut, the Bank of England held interest rates level at 5.5% this month.
December '07 - The Bank of England cut interest rates for the first time in 2 years - 0.25% was taken off the base rate, reducing it to 5.5%,
November '07 - The Bank of England held interest rates at 5.75% this month.
