House Prices Falling Again

The Nationwide building society has said house prices fell in February, the first fall in 10 months.

During February average property prices fell by 1% compared with January, taking the average home value to £161,320. But on an annual basis, prices have risen by 9.2% as this 1% fall was less than February 2009.

Mortgage lending has also slowed at the start of this year, as expected following the end of the stamp duty holiday.
